General

What is Ayurveda and how does it work?

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system of natural healing. It works by restoring balance between your body, mind, and spirit using personalized therapies, herbal oils, and lifestyle guidance tailored to your unique constitution (Dosha).

How do I book an appointment?

You can book through our Contact page, by calling us directly, or by sending an email. We recommend booking at least 48 hours in advance to secure your preferred time slot.

What is your cancellation policy?

We kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice for any cancellation or rescheduling. This allows us to offer the time slot to other clients. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee.

Do I need to bring anything for my treatment?

We provide everything you need — fresh robes, towels, and disposable undergarments. We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing and leaving valuables at home for a worry-free experience.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes! We offer beautifully presented gift cards for specific treatments or dollar amounts — the perfect way to share wellness with someone you love.

Can I book a session if I have a medical condition?

Yes, but we recommend consulting your physician first. Please inform our practitioners of any conditions, medications, injuries, or allergies at the time of booking so we can customize the session safely for you.

How should I prepare for my first session?

Arrive 10–15 minutes early to fill out a consultation form. Avoid heavy meals at least 2 hours before. Drink plenty of water before and after your session. Avoid wearing heavy makeup if you are coming for a facial treatment.

Facial Treatments

What is a HydraFacial and how is it different from a regular facial?

A HydraFacial uses a patented vortex technology to simultaneously cleanse, exfoliate, extract, and infuse the skin with hydrating serums. Unlike traditional facials, it delivers instant, visible results with no downtime and is suitable for virtually all skin types.

Is the HydraFacial suitable for sensitive or acne-prone skin?

Yes. The HydraFacial is one of the most gentle yet effective clinical treatments available. It can be customized with specific boosters to target acne, redness, dryness, or hyperpigmentation, making it ideal for all skin sensitivities.

Can I wear makeup after a facial treatment?

We recommend avoiding makeup for at least 12–24 hours after any facial treatment to allow your skin to breathe and fully absorb the treatment benefits. Your skin will naturally look refreshed and glowing.

How often should I get a facial?

For maintenance and general skin health, once every 4–6 weeks is ideal as it aligns with the natural skin cell cycle. If you are targeting specific skin concerns, your therapist may recommend more frequent sessions initially.

What is Dermaplaning (Silk & Glow)?

Dermaplaning is a safe, non-invasive exfoliation treatment that uses a sterile surgical scalpel to gently remove the top layer of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). This reveals a smoother, more radiant complexion and allows skincare products and makeup to apply more flawlessly.

Microdermabrasion

What is Microdermabrasion and what does it treat?

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive skin resurfacing treatment that uses fine crystals or a diamond tip to exfoliate the outer layer of skin. It effectively reduces fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, sun damage, and uneven skin tone, leaving your skin noticeably smoother and younger-looking.

Is Microdermabrasion painful?

No. Most clients describe it as a mild scratching or suction sensation, which is generally very well-tolerated. There is no downtime; your skin may appear slightly pink for a few hours after the treatment, which quickly subsides.

What should I avoid after Microdermabrasion?

For 24–48 hours post-treatment, avoid direct sun exposure, vigorous exercise, hot showers, exfoliating products, and retinol or acids. Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen daily. Your skin will be more receptive to high-quality products after the session.

Hammam & Spa Rituals

What is a Hammam Ritual?

The Hammam is a traditional Middle Eastern bathing ritual that combines steam, exfoliation with a kessa mitt, a full-body black soap treatment, and aromatic oil hydration. It deeply purifies, detoxifies, and softens the skin from head to toe, leaving you feeling completely renewed.

Who should avoid the Hammam treatment?

The Hammam involves steam and heat, which may not be suitable for individuals with: high blood pressure, heart conditions, skin infections or open wounds, recent surgeries, or those in the first trimester of pregnancy. Please consult your doctor if you have any concerns before booking.

What is Shirodhara and what are its benefits?

Shirodhara is a deeply calming Ayurvedic therapy where warm herbal oil is continuously poured over the forehead in a rhythmic stream. It is highly effective for relieving stress, anxiety, insomnia, migraines, and mental fatigue. Most clients feel profoundly calm and grounded afterward.

Japanese Head Spa

What is a Japanese Head Spa?

The Japanese Head Spa is a luxury scalp wellness ritual that combines a thorough scalp analysis, deep exfoliation, a specialized scalp massage, and hydrating hair treatments. It promotes scalp health, stimulates hair growth, relieves tension headaches, and induces a deeply meditative state of relaxation.

Will the Japanese Head Spa help with hair loss or scalp issues?

Yes. Regular Head Spa sessions can significantly improve scalp circulation, reduce dandruff, oil build-up, and scalp inflammation — all of which are common contributors to hair thinning and loss. For best results, a consistent series of sessions is recommended.

How long does a Japanese Head Spa session take?

We offer three tiers: a focused 50-minute session ($99), a comprehensive 60-minute ritual ($110), and our full 70-minute GS Premium Ritual ($129). The session duration you choose depends on the depth of treatment and relaxation you are seeking.

Epilation — Waxing & Threading

What is the difference between waxing and threading?

Waxing removes hair from the root using soft or hard wax, making it ideal for larger body areas like legs and arms. Threading uses a twisted thread to remove individual hairs with precision, making it best suited for facial areas like eyebrows, upper lip, and chin where accuracy is essential.

How long should my hair be before a waxing appointment?

For best results, hair should be at least ¼ inch (about 6mm) long — roughly 2–4 weeks of growth after shaving. Hair that is too short may not adhere to the wax properly, and hair that is too long may cause more discomfort during removal.

Is waxing painful?

There is some discomfort with waxing, especially on sensitive areas. However, the sensation is brief and typically becomes easier with regular sessions as hair regrows finer and sparser. We use high-quality wax formulas designed to minimize discomfort and skin trauma.

What should I avoid after a waxing session?

For 24–48 hours after waxing: avoid hot showers, saunas, swimming pools, direct sun exposure, tight clothing, deodorants (for underarm waxing), and any exfoliating products. You may apply a fragrance-free soothing lotion or Aloe Vera gel to calm the skin.

Safety & Cautions

Are your treatments safe during pregnancy?

Many treatments can be modified for pregnancy; however, certain therapies are not recommended — particularly during the first trimester. Please inform us when booking and we will assign a therapist with prenatal experience and adjust the session protocol accordingly. Always consult your OB before any wellness treatment during pregnancy.

I have very sensitive skin — what should I do?

Please disclose your skin type and any known allergies or reactions during your consultation. Waxing and threading can occasionally cause minor redness or bumps on sensitive skin, which typically subside within a few hours. We will apply a soothing Aloe Vera gel if you experience any irritation.

Can I get waxed if I am on certain medications?

Certain medications — including Retinol/Tretinoin, Accutane, blood thinners, and some antibiotics — can make your skin significantly more sensitive and prone to tearing during waxing. Please disclose all current medications at your consultation. We may recommend waiting until you complete your course of treatment.

What is your policy on skin irritation or reactions?

While the products we use are carefully selected for quality and safety, individual skin reactions can occasionally occur due to personal allergies or sensitivities. We will always conduct a brief consultation beforehand. In the unlikely event of any adverse reaction, we recommend consulting a dermatologist. Ayura Glow cannot be held responsible for reactions resulting from undisclosed conditions or allergies.

Will the Ayurvedic oils stain my clothes or hair?

Our Ayurvedic oils are designed to absorb deeply into the skin. We provide protective coverings during all oil treatments. We recommend wearing loose, dark-colored clothing for your journey home after oil therapies. For head treatments, leaving the oil in for 2–4 hours before washing maximizes the scalp-nourishing benefits.
